Hey, hey!
It’s been a minute since I’ve sent an email — I promise I will send a fun update email this Friday. But I am writing you on a Tuesday (of all days!) to inform you that I am teaching another crash course this summer and it’s starting in one week!!
May I present another Crash Course in Revival Type Design! The class starts Tuesday, July 23rd, and ends on Tuesday, August 20th. It’s from 6pm-8pm EST. It costs $350.
If you have been interested in taking a type design course, this is a great opportunity to dip your toe in the water! It’s a 5-week revival type design course, so that means we’ll be starting with a historical type specimen and you won’t have the pressure to come up with your own concept! It is one of the best ways to learn how a typeface is built. It’s how I spent my first term at Type West!
Here is a peek at the schedule for the class:

Instructor & Student Introductions / Review Syllabus & Set Intentions / Overview of Revival Type / Students Present Their Revival Sources & Discussion / How To Use A Source Demo & DiscussionWeek 2: Jul. 30 | Introduction to Glyphs

And at the end of this class, we will put together a class specimen (usually a zine!) and you’ll get a printed copy in the mail! If you’d like to read more about the class, click here. <3
Please reply to this email with any questions! I’ll be back to regular programming on Friday!
