Hello & happy Friday!
I thought this week would be a great time for a website debrief and some goal setting! Partially because I didn’t send out a monthly update and partially because I am allowing myself to massively slack off after finishing my site (don’t judge!!).
I decided to just list out my thoughts today because writing is sometimes hard and this made it easier! <3
Post website feelings ↓
I am having the most bizarre sense of apathy towards the site which I’m not sure is good or bad.
Webflow is great but it’s quite a hurdle to learn how to use it properly. I had to rely on my outdated coding knowledge to be able to google things as they arose.
If you ever work with Webflow, please reach out!! There are some quirks that you won’t discover until you’re working on something for a full day, only to find out there’s a thing called a “current” psuedo class that shows up for no reason and the site-wide changes you made didn’t apply to any other pages. I’d love to save someone else the tears!
I really love how the site turned out but there are some small things I’d like to finesse. Just like fonts, websites are never truly done!
I am very excited that I actually have a little home for TDN now and this means mostly exciting things are ahead!
I am really excited to add a blog page soon!
I also want to add some fonts in progress (FIPs) to the site as well! I think it could be a fun way to beef up the site while I am developing my library.
Goals going forward ↓
Getting back into working on fonts!! (Sweet f-ing relief!!)
Weightless is closest to the finish line so that will likely be the next release.
I’d like to keep playing with Mr Rightside. There’s a lot of opportunity to explore some fun things in the new high contrast version!
Resume regular posting/sharing
This won’t look much different than before, I’d just like to be more consistent again.
If you have any tips for posting on instagram and the like, please share in the comments!! I am curious to know how others handle it!
Get the TDN blog up and running. I want to write some more formal-ish, in-depth posts about certain subjects. Namely, process blogs, tips for foundry site building, and anything else that warrants a full blog post!
I’d also love to streamline my font engineering process as I’m finishing up Weightless. I will definitely share my learnings via blog post in the future!!
Merch needs to be revisited as well! I have a new plan for some things that will be really fun.
I’m almost done listening to the book, “The Courage To Be Disliked,” by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. I’ve been feeling a lot of insecurity around running this business and sharing things lately and this book is helping to change my perspective a bit!
I started a new podcast called, Smosh Reads Reddit Stories. I am addicted to these kinds of podcasts lately!! I just want to hear crazy stories and drama that doesn’t concern me or anyone I know.
Alex and I started watching the new season of American Idol for nostalgia’s sake and it’s actually good and I have cried like 5x per episode so far!!
Also we finally finished the Indiana Jones movies and the last one was definitely my favorite! The writing, acting, and filming style were all so much better.
Here’s an apartment tour that I drooled over recently!
I’ll be out next week but I will be back with actual font stuff in 2 weeks!! See you then!

Congrats on the progress on your website! I am glad you’re investing in a property you can truly own and control. I look forward to following your blog with RSS instead of Substack.
